Logic X Baby!

Logic X Rocks big time!

Logic X Rocks
I admit it. I’m a bit of a software “junkie.” If there’s a new plugin out or software instrument, I want to demo it. If I like it then I want to buy it. It’s a real problem for me :-). So the day Logic X came out I bought it and went to town learning it and incorporating it into my work. Now admittedly, most of my clients didn’t know I used Logic 9 (or cared for that matter) so the fact that I upgraded didn’t really mean much to people. But for me, it’s been amazing. I still talk to fellow producers today, almost a year since it came out, who are clueless to the improvements of the newer software. That’s fine by me as it’ll be my little secret.

Here are some of Logic X’s highlights

  • Drummer Plugin: imagine having many “live” drummers available at an instant to try out on your song! This plugin combines great (human) midi drum grooves and combines it with fantastic sounding drum sets. This has become my favorite drum library, and I own quite a few of them.
  • New Synths: One can never have too many cool sounding synths. Well, Logic X ships with a new “Retro Synth” VI that sounds amazing. Anything from nice ambient pad sounds to fat Moog basses are easy with this guy.
  • Built in graphical “Flex Pitch” pitch correction: I own and use both Auto Tune and Melodyne, which are the standards in professional pitch correction but now I have a 3rd option, Logic’s “Flex Pitch”.
  • New Guitar Amps and FX: Being a guitar/bass player, this was a no-brainer for me. There are now some nice virtual Bass amps and some additional guitar FX. Fun stuff.
There are many, many other little improvements that make my workflow quicker that you can check out at Apple’s website. Suffice it to say that I love Logic X and am happy to be using to producer your next hit single!
